volunteers and views

The plants in the polytunnels are getting on well, though they're needing plenty of water. We have begun to sell bags of salad leaves.

Here are some volunteers from 2008

The villages near the Green Patch are very attractive.

beanpoles

The Northampton team have erected a row of beanpoles and the carpenters are getting on with the raised beds. I finished spraying the polytunnels against mould.

On Midsummer Day 2008 everyone was busy.

raised beds

The workmen came yesterday to make the new raised beds and patio area. I moved the plants from my old raised bed today and though it was only 1 metre square there were:-

20 onions, 5 winter lettuce, 2 strawberry plants, a row of spinach, rosemary and thyme.

We're hoping to get schools and some disabled people working on these beds.

A fine day

On Wednesday there were 15-16 workers enjoying the sun. Some were mulching the tender plants with hay. The new floor in the Green Shed looks good. Tete-a-tete daffodils are just coming out in the hedgerow. The photo is of the first vegs in 2002.
